Despite withdrawing from international acquisitions, The Globe Film Co has signed on to handle Australian and New Zealand distribution on Til Human Voices Wake Us, one of two features which have just secured investment from the Australian Film Finance Corporation (FFC).

Director-writer Michael Petroni has sold several scripts to Hollywood studios but Human Voices will be his directing debut. Production is scheduled to start in late April. The film is being made under the Melbourne-based DND Productions banner and company principals David Redman, Nigel Odell, Dean Murphy and Shana Levine are all producing.

LA-based Key Entertainment will represent the film internationally and equity investment is also coming from state government agency Film Victoria. Key executive Thomas Augsberger is executive producing alongside Gareth Wiley and the Entertainment Finance Group's Justin Pearce, who brought the project to DND.

The second film to get the approval of the FFC board is the thriller The Third Circle, which has secured US distribution via Trimark. Beyond Films is handling international sales on the film and the Pacific Film and Television Commission is also an investor. Director Murray Fahey wrote the script with Ian Coughlan and the producers are Chris Brown and David Hannay. The project was originally known as Cubbyhouse, but it was felt that this title, meaning child's playhouse, would not be understood outside Australia.
