Gold Circle Films hasacquired remake rights to Mennan Yapo's Soundless which screened in the German Cinema section of theBerlin Film Festival in 2004.

The film is a thriller/lovestory about a pensive hired gun trying to get out of the business. Soundless also won the Jury Prize at the recent CognacThriller Festival and the Platinum Award in the Suspense/Thriller section ofthe WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.

The film was produced by TomTykwer's X-Filme Creative Pool and written by Lars Olav Beier.

Yapo, who is represented byICM's DJ Talbot said he was "very happy about the deal." The German film-makerspeaks fluent English and has been fielding offers in the US. Talbot added, "Weare very excited that it's Gold Circle. They have been huge fans of Mennan andthis deal is another step in the relationship."

"It's an important projectfor us and should translate very well for American and internationalaudiences," said Gold Circle's Paul Brooks.

Brooks said Gold Circle is"absolutely open to (Mennan directing the remake) if he is."
