Sarah Michelle Gellar, whosestar is on a high after the success of The Grudge, has signed to star in another supernatural thrillercalled Revolver (not to beconfused with Guy Ritchie's film of the same name for EuropaCorp) which isbeing produced by Aaron Ryder's Raygun Pictures for Focus Features' RoguePictures label.

The UK's acclaimed AsifKapadia (The Warrior) is thedirector of the movie in which Gellar plays a young executive haunted byvisions and nightmares who is compelled to investigate the murder of a youngwoman killed 25 years earlier. Focus is handling worldwide rights on the film.

Gellar's movie career hasincluded a number of hits like the two Scooby-Doo pictures and Cruel intentions but The Grudge was the first film which relied solely on her star power. It had anopening weekend gross of over $39m and has taken over $75m after 13 days on release.
