The broad appeal of Sony'scomedy Guess Who packed too muchof a punch for Warner Bros' poorly received comedy sequel Miss Congeniality2: Armed And Fabulous at the Easter weekend,opening top of the North American charts on an estimated $21m.

Ashton Kutcher and BernieMac's banter in the loose remake of 1967's epochal Guess Who's Coming ToDinner opened to mixed reviews butaveraged a strong $6,673 on 3,147 screens.

Meanwhile audiences andcritics were unsure about Sandra Bullock's reprised role as the undercover FBIagent from her 2000 worldwide smash. The picture opened in second place on$14.5m over three days for a $4,488 average on 3,233 screens, and grossed$17.6m since launching on Thursday.

Last weekend's champion,DreamWorks' horror sequel The Ring Two, fell 60% and two places to third on $13.8m for a $58.1m domesticrunning total, while Fox/Blue Sky's animated family picture Robots fell two to fourth on $87.4m after three weekends.

Buena Vista's family title ThePacifier is headed for $100m afterit raised its cumulative total to $86.3m after four weekends, Sony's worldwidehit romantic comedy Hitch fellone to sixth on $4.3m for $166.5m after seven weekends.

The thriller Hostage, released through Miramax in North America,continued its steady decline finishing seventh on $26.2m after three weekends.

Next weekend's wide releasesinclude the comic book adaptation Sin City through Dimension starring Clive Owen and BruceWillis, among others; and MGM's comedy Beauty Shop, which stars Queen Latifah.
