Rainbow World has acquired North American rights (excluding French-speaking Canada) to Jung Henin & Laurent Boileau’s debut feature Approved For Adoption.

The animated documentary won the Audience Award and the Unicef Award at the Annecy Animation Film Festival and will be released theatrically in 2013, Rainbow World’s first-ever release. Jennifer Arndt-Johns, founder/director of Rainbow World, and Anais Clanet of Wide negotiated the deal.

“We look forward to sharing Approved For Adoption with North American audiences,” commented Arndt-Johns. “The film is a perfect fit as our inaugural release because it brings to the forefront many of the complex experiences and issues that emerge from being adopted internationally/transracially.”

“Wide has a long partnership with Jennifer Arndt-Johns and we couldn’t be more delighted to keep this partnership alive. [The film] has been a three-year commitment for the production team (Mosaique Films, Artemis Productions, France 3 Cinema) and Wide,” added Clanet.

Rainbow World is a non-profit organisation focused on creating and distributing educational media about international/transracial adoption.
