Featuring thelucrative combination of director Johnnie To and stars Andy Lau and SammiCheng, the film revolves around a gentleman thief and a cat burglar who try tooutwit each other, only to find their old flame rekindled. It marks the secondfilm that To has directed for Media Asia this year following detective thrillerBreaking News which screened in officialselection at Cannes.

US openers Ladder 49 and Exorcist: The Beginning, both on 32 screens, took second and thirdplace in the chart with US$474,522 and US$284,597 respectively.
