This year's Hong KongFilm Awards was a straight tie between Stephen Chow's Kung Fu Hustle and WongKar Wai's 2046, with eachwinning six prizes.

Kung Fu Hustle took home the top honour of best film and the bestsupporting actor award for Yuen Wah. It also swept the awards for best actionchoreography, best visual effects, best film editing and best sound design.

2046's Tony Leung Chiu Wai was declared best actor -a title he has now won five times - and his co-star Zhang Ziyi was bestactress. 2046 also picked up bestcinematography, best art direction, best costume and make up design and bestoriginal film score.

One Nite in Mongkok walked away with best screenplay for Derek Yee whoalso beat off Wong and Chow to clinch the best director award. Dumplings' Bai Ling was named best supporting actress.

Best new performer went toChinese actress Tian Yuan for herrole as a lesbian in Butterflywhile Wong Ching Po took best new director for his stylish gangster film JiangHu. Korea's Old Boy won the best Asian film award.

In celebration of the 100thyear of Chinese cinema, the late legendary kung fu star Bruce Lee was honouredwith a Star of the Century award. His daughter Shannon was on hand to receivethe special award presented by Raymond Chow, Golden Harvest founder andLee's former producer.

As part of the Hong KongEntertainment Expo which comprises media-related events including the Hong KongInternational Film Festival, FilMart and the Hong Kong-Asia Film FinancingForum, this year's Film Awards was the biggest ever with an audience of7,000 held at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
