Alex Hamilton has joined Icon Film Distribution in the UK as president,reporting to newly-appointed CEO Martin Bigham.

Hamilton, who most recently served as director of sales and businessdevelopment at fellow UK distributor Momentum Pictures, will start with thecompany next week.

"I'm delighted to be joining Icon and very much look forward to workingwith the talented and experienced team there," he said.

Hamilton effectively replaces Sally Caplan, who recently left to headthe Premiere Fund at Government-backed support body the UK Film Council.Bigham, formerly managing director of technical services outfit Cineserve,replaced Nick Hill, who left the company two weeks ago.

Icon is currently distributing MariaFull Of Grace. Upcoming releases include UK Sundance film On A ClearDay, Trust The Man, starring Billy Crudup, David Duchovny, MaggieGyllenhaal, Julianne Moore, Eva Mendes and Ellen BarkinI, and Alpha Dog,with Justin Timberlake, Bruce Willis and Sharon Stone.
