Canada's iCraveTV, the web-site that has raised the ire of the US and local entertainment industries, is understood to be close to reaching a settlement with its powerhouse adversaries.

The site had been web-casting feeds from US and Canadian channels without permission; but was forced to cease web-casts last Friday following a restraining order handed down by a US court.

Although iCraveTV's activities are technically legal in Canada, the company acceded to the judgement rather than risk the expense and repercussions of US litigation. So far lawsuits have been filed by the Motion Picture Association, the National Football League and the National Basketball Association, Alliance Atlantis Communications and the CTV Network.
