Image Entertainment has struck a three-film deal with sales company Celluloid Dreams. Image has taken North American rights for Far North and US rights for Emotional Arithmetic and The Color of Freedom (formerly titled Goodbye Bafana).

The deal was brokered by Celluloid president Hengameh Panahi and Image Entertainment UK's managing director Wendy Rutland.

Asif Kapadia's Far North is about two women at odds in the remote Arctic Tundra. Michelle Yeoh, Sean Bean and Michelle Krusiec star.

Paolo Barzman's Emotional Arithmetic, which premiered in Toronto, is about three people reunited after spending time in a World War II detention camp. The cast features Susan Sarandon, Gabriel Byrne, Max Von Sydow, Christopher Plummer and Roy Dupuis.

Bille August's The Color Of Freedom, a Berlinale 2007 premiere, stars Joseph Fiennes, Dennis Haysbert and Diane Kruger in the story of a white prison guard who befriends Nelson Mandela. Image plans a DVD release on May 20.

'We are very pleased to be acquiring three films of such a high caliber from Celluloid Dreams,' said Rutland. 'We have been aggressively intensifying our hunt for quality feature films, and we are looking forward to working with Celluloid Dreams as we increase our ever-growing roster of titles.'
