Imax Corp. has appointed PeterEiff to general manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Eiffwill relocate from Los Angeles to Berlin before the end of 2006.

Eiff joins Imax from consultingfirm International Film Finance Services. He has previously worked atLucasfilm, Paramount, New Regency Productions and Buena VistaInternational.

'Peter's thoroughunderstanding of the importance and value of premium distribution channels forbranded event films made him the perfect choice to take on this crucial rolewithin Imax,' said Larry O' Reilly, Imax's executive VP of theatredevelopment. 'Of course, being a European native, who has spent the last14 years in Hollywood, will be extremely helpful as well.'

In his new role, Eiff willcreate new business opportunites for Imax and its studio partners by growingthe EMA network into a "significant distribution channel forHollywood event films." One area of concentration will be todrive sales of the Imax MPX technology, which lowers the cost of entry into theImax world.

Imax currently has 54theatres in EMEA with an additional 22 scheduled to open by 2008.
