UK actor Jude law is resigning his directorship of Natural Nylon, the talent-led production company he set up with fellow actors such as Ewan McGregor.

Law is said to be stepping down due to the amount of time he spends abroad now that his career has taken off with films such as The Road To Perdition and A.I. Artificial Intelligence. His move follows Ewan McGregor's decision to quit as a director last year for similar reasons. Fellow co-founder Damon Bryant left also last year to launch his own production outfit.

Kevin Loader, a producer affiliated to the company, stressed that Natural Nylon would still have links with Law and his actress-wife Sadie Frost. "[His move] is completely understandable," Loader said. "There are projects we are actively discussing with him and Sadie."
