Julie Spielberghas been appointed senior vice president of legal affairs for MGM'stheatrical business affairs division, the studio's executive vicepresident of theatrical business affairs Jonathan Bader announced today (Apr30).

In her new postSpielberg will be involved in all aspects of theatrical business and legalaffairs related to MGM's film production activities, talent andfilm-maker contracts, rights acquisitions, financing agreements, multi-picturearrangements and term deals.

Spielbergarrives at MGM from conference centre RW Ranch, where she served as in-housecounsel and the company's general manager.

Prior to thatshe worked at Universal Pictures from 1989-99, rising to vice president oflegal affairs. Spielberg began her legal career at the law firm Gibson, Dunn& Crutcher, where she worked with major corporate and international talent.
