Kinowelt International, the foreign sales arm of German media concern Kinowelt Medien, has acquired international rights to Hansjoerg Thurn's Love Never Fails (Marmor,) and Peter Keglevic's Falling Rocks (Stein Und Eisen).

The films are the first two projects from young Berlin-based production outfit TTD Checkpoint Berlin. The company was founded a year ago by Til Schweiger's former partner in Mr Brown Entertainment, Tom Zickler, together with Daniel C. Witte and Tim Tremper.

Love Never Fails, which was originally entitled XXL, was co-produced by Upstart! FilmProduktion , the filmmaking arm of SFX house Upstart! The film, which stars Frank Giering (Funny Games), Ralph Herforth (Short Sharp Shock) and Ralf Richter (Bang Boom Bang), was shot in and around Berlin and on the Baltic coast last spring. Falling Rocks is currently in post-production after shooting on location in South Africa last November and December.

According to Witte, negotiations are underway with German distributors for theatrical releases of the films, both of which Kinowelt plans to start selling internationally at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
