Koch Lorber Films has acquired all US rights to The Syrian Bride, the political comedy that won prizes at Locarno and Montreal. World sales are handled by France's TF1 International.

Structured as a French-German-Israeli co-production, Bride is the story of a woman who crosses from the disputed territory of theGolan Heights to wed a Syrian. The wedding stirs up a welter of religious and bureaucratic reactions mirroring the confused political climate in the region.

Directed by Eran Riklis it was made with a large Palestinian cast including Clara Khouryas Mona the Bride (Rana's Wedding), HiamAbbass (Satin Rouge) and Makram J Khoury.

Recent Koch Lorber theatrical releases include Lars von Trier's and JorgenLeth's The Five Obstructionswhich is Denmark's official entry this year for the Academy Awards.Upcoming theatrical launches include the Jacques Demy 1970 classic Donkey Skin.
