New US DVD distributor KochLorber Films has signed an exclusive deal with CineCorp and Street AlienPictures to launch a new DVD line of Bollywood films released theatricallythrough their Rajastan Films.

Rajastan was created byGautam Shah of CineCorp, one of the leading distributors and exhibitors ofIndian films in the US, and Street Alien, a new production and distributionoutfit headed by Juan Carlos Zapata and Wayne Mogel.

The first group of Rajastanfilms to be released by Koch Lorber over the next 12 months includes spyadventure The Hero and Hindihorror movie Bhoot. DVD releaseswill be scheduled once the theatrical dates are confirmed in the coming months.

'The best Indian filmshave a kaleidoscopic charm and emotional allure that just captivates newaudiences, wherever they're shown. With our DVD releases we are going to expandthe opportunity for these films to reach both the arthouse crowd and curiousmainstream audiences that may not have yet sampled Bollywood's delights,'said Richard Lorber, president of Koch Lorber Films, in a statement.
