Industry veteran LouisSchwartzberg, whose directorial debut America's Heart And Soul is due to go on limited release through Buena Vistaon Jul 2, has launched a stock footage library within his production companyBlackLight Films.

The new resource includesmore than 4,500 scenes of natural beauty and indigenous peoples from around theworld, including 350 hours of footage from the shoot of America's Heart AndSoul, a documentary about the livesand thoughts of ordinary Americans.

Featured footage includeskyscapes, landmarks and nature, and every scene is in 35mm original andavailable in any tape format.

BlackLight Films executiveRob Sherman will serve as executive in charge of the library. The company waslaunched in 1997 and produces film, television and commercials.

"For more than two decadesI've enjoyed travelling the world shooting the vast beauty of nature and thepeople who make each region unique," Schwartzberg said in a statement.

"The end result is avaluable collection of spectacular footage that may be beneficial to otherfilm-makers as well as television and commercial producers."

Schwartzberg's work has beenfeatured in Koyaanisqatsi, ErinBrockovich and the upcoming sequel TheBourne Supremacy, among others, andhe previously owned the footage company Energy Film Library.
