Korea'sTaewon Entertainment and Hong Kong's Visualizer Film Production areco-producing $15m-$20m epic Three Kingdoms - Resurrection of the Dragon.Hong Kong star Andy Lau Tak Wah is attached to the project with other castingto be confirmed.

Thefilm is being directed by Daniel Lee, who previously directed Dragon Squad,starring Sammo Hung Kam-bo and Michael Biehn.

Headof production and distribution company Taewon Entertainment TaeWon Chung isproducing with Susanna Tsang of Visualizer Film Production, which previouslyco-produced Dragon Squad.

Taewonpreviously produced large-scale swordplay fantasy Shadowless Sword, which wasco-financed by New Line Cinema, and has seen local hits with the gangstercomedy Marrying the Mafia films one and two.

Thefilm is based on the classic Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms,written by Luo Guanzhong more than 600 years ago.

Basedon events with the warring states in the 2nd and 3rdcenturies, the novel is revered across East Asia for its intrigues, psychologyand stratagem, and has inspired several films and video games.

Shootingis planned to start early next year, with delivery planned for the end of 2007.
