BAFTA and film body Screen WM are bringing major Bollywood talent to the UK second city of Birmingham this week. (November 17-19)

The Mela '06 event at the National Exhibition Centre will feature film screenings and live interviews with Indian superstar husband and wife Ajay Devgan and Kajol and Saif Ali Khan.

Devgan is best known for playing the anti-hero in films such as The Legend Of Bhagat Singh and this year as Iago in Othello.

Kajol is one of India's most popular actresses who starred in blockbusters such as Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (Sometimes Happiness, Sometimes Sorrow) and this year's Fanaa (Destroyed In Love).

Saif Ali Khan is the star of such hits as Dil Chahta Hai (Do Your Thing) and appeared alongside Devgan in Omkara this year.

The Birmingham even follows the successful London-based BAFTA Goes Bollywood event earlier this year.

"The BAFTA in the Regions programme is all about taking the very best film and programme making standards to as wide an audience as possible, and by taking the event on tour, we want to ensure that regional members of BAFTA and members of the public can participate in celebrating one of the world's leading film industries," said Kevin Price, chief operating officer at BAFTA.
