Spain'sLolafilms has closed three key pre-sales and is fielding broad interest on itsperiod biopic Teresa,starring Viggo Mortensen and Paz Vega.

The film has pre-sold toMexico's Gussi, Brazil's Conquest Filmes and Venezuela's Blancica. Offers arealso on the table from Argentina, according to Lola's head of internationalsales, Eva Sklar.

Pre-sales areunusual for any Spanish film outside giants such as Pedro Almodovar, and Teresa has been written by his Life Flesh collaborator, Ray Loriga, who will alsomake his directing debut on this 16th century story about the lifeof Spain's Saint Teresa, mother of the Carmelite nuns.

Rounding out thecast are Victoria Abril and Leonor Watling.

Furtherpre-sales, including to interested European buyers,are likely to pend ascript read.

Lola CEO AndresVicente Gomez is co-producing the Euros 8m film with France's Artemis and theUK's Future Film Group. Teresa is scheduled to go in front of cameras inOctober.
