The London UK Film Focus has announced its 2008 dates as June 30-July 3. The 2007 dates ran June 25-28.

The market event for international buyers now comes on the heels of the Edinburgh International Film Festival, which will run June 18-29 after moving from a later August slot. Presumably, international industry visitors may be doubly enticed to visit EIFF before stopping through LUFF.

LUFF, organised by Film London and backed by the UK Film Council, Film Export UK, the London Development Agency and UK Trade & Investment, is now in its fifth year.

Organisers expect 150 buyers to attend, screening about 40 films from UK sales companies.

Again, the film export event will be held at the BFI Southbank.

LUFF also hosts sneak-preview screenings of footage of forthcoming titles. The Breakthrough strand will showcase features without sales companies attached.
Helena Mackenzie, head of international at Film London, said: 'It's absolute testimony to the UK sales agents and the international buyers that this event is so successful and well attended. It also continues to grow and improve, bringing more and more new British talent to the fore and placing them in front of the international film audience.'
