Will Machin has been named head of international at THINKFilm International. He had been head of co-productions and sales at London-based Carnaby International and previously worked as co-president of international sales at Lola Films.

He joins THINKFilm as of January 14 and will start planning for Berlin immediately. Machin will report to Managing Director Peter Naish and he replaces Eve Schoukroun, who has now left THINKFilm.

Carnaby will not be hiring a replacement for Machin, and will instead be run by current staffers Ian Hall and Edrian Wenger.

Machin said: 'I'm delighted to be joining TH!NKFilm International at this stage in its burgeoning life and look forward to working with the dynamic Capitol and TH!NKFilm teams in shaping the future of this specialist division of the company and bringing high value films to the market-place.

Naish added: '[Machin] has a wealth of relevant sales and financing experience and I look forward to working with him as we move the THINKFilm brand forward to meet the challenges that lie ahead.'

THINKFilm International was relaunched in 2007 as the sister sales brand to Capitol Films. Each continues separately with its own sales staff.

THINKFilm is headquartered in London with a New York office. THINKFilm concentrates on more 'edgy films' like Nigel Cole's 5 Dollars a Day and Alex De La Iglesia's The Oxford Murders, with Capitol handling larger-budget mainstream films.
