Canadian director Guy Maddin has been nominated for an award from the Directors Guild of Canada for his critically acclaimed Dracula: Pages From A Virgin's Diary.

Maddin received a nomination in the category of Outstanding Achievement in Direction - Television Movie/Mini-Series. The second annual DGC Awards, which will be held on October 4 in Toronto, honour the accomplishments in film and television by members of the Directors Guild of Canada. The final nominees were selected by the Awards Jury from over 400 nominations.

Dracula has already collected a number of honours, including Best Film at the Sitges International Film Festival of Horror, an International Emmy award, two Gemini awards, and being named one of Canada's Top Ten 2002 by the Toronto International Film Festival Group.
