Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion consolidated its number one ranking aheadof four top 10 openers in a typically quiet Oscar weekend at the box office.

The Lionsgate release - which is written, directed,produced by and stars Perry in a big screen version of his hit stage play -added an estimated $13m for $48.1m after ten days.

The cop thriller 16 Blocks, released in North America through Warner Bros, opened tomixed reviews in second place on $11.7m and averaged $4,307 on 2,706 screens.

Bruce Willis plays a police officer who escorts Mos Def's witnessto a hearing. Richard Donner directed.

Opening in fourth place was Screen Gems' sci-fi romp Ultravioletstarring Milla Jovovich.Poorly received by critics, tthe picture nevertheless grossed $9m for a $3,518average on 2,558 screens.

Fox's mermaid family filmAquamarine opened in fifth place on $7.5m to anaverage of $2,985 on 2,512 screens.

Dave Chappelle's Block Party, a real-life concert film about the comedian staging anoutdoor party for his friends and neighbours, opened in seventh place throughRogue Pictures on $6.5m. Block Party, directed by Michel Gondry, averaged $5,430 on 1,200screens.

Elsewhere Buena Vista's icy adventure Eight Below fell once place to third in its thirdweekend on $10.3m for $58.8m. MGM's The Pink Panther ranks sixth on $69.8m after fourweekends, and Warner Bros' thriller Firewall sits in 10th place on $42.5m after fourweekends.

Next weekend's wide releases are Buena Vista's comedy TheShaggy Dog starring TimAllen; Fox Searchlight's horror remake The Hills Have Eyes starring Aaron Stanford and Ted Levine;Paramount's romantic comedy Failure To Launch starring Matthew McConaughey and SarahJessica Parker; and The Weinstein Company's The Libertine, which stars Johnny Depp.
