In the first domestic deal of the market, Magnolia Pictures has closed on North American rightsto Thai action adventure Dynamite Warrior (Tabunfire), starringThailand's latest action export Dan Chupong.

Sahamongkolfilm producedand is selling the high-octane title, from the team behind Ong Bak - producer Prachya Pinkaew and actionchoreographer Panna Rittikrai.

Directed by ChalermWongphim, the film is currently in post-production with a Thai releasescheduled for December. Magnolia, which released Ong Bak in the US, plans to release Dynamite Warrior in summer 2007.

Chupong, who starred inSahamongkol's Born To Fight,plays a young man aiming to avenge the murder of his parents. His quest leadsto an evil warlock, whom he manages to overcome, only to come up against a farmore dangerous power.

Sahamongkolfilm, whichunleashed Ong Bak star Tony Jaainto the world market, launched an international sales outfit earlier this yearand got off to a flying start with a slate that included Ong Bak 2.

Magnolia'sother recent Asian acquisitions include Exiled, from Hong Kong director Johnnie To, and Korean boxoffice smash The Host, directedby Bong Joon-ho.
