Hong Kong's Mandarin Films is commencing sales on Barbara Wong Chun-chun's upcoming comedy drama Wonder Woman here at Filmart.

Gigi Leung and Fiona Sit will head the cast of the film which follows a local career woman during the period from the handover of Hong Kong until the present day.

'Barbara will use a comical style to tell a story about the survival of career women in the past ten years,' says Mandarin distribution manager Virginia Leung.

Wong has won acclaim for social dramas such as Truth Or Dare: Sixth Floor Rear Flat and Women's Private Parts, a documentary about the sex lives of Chinese women.

Her new film is currently in pre-production and is tentatively scheduled for release in July. Singer George Lam, who appeared in Wong's last film Six Strong Guys, will play a cameo.

Mandarin is also handling international sales on $10m contemporary action adventure Flash Point (aka City With No Mercy) which it is co-producing with Beijing-based Polybona. The film, directed by Wilson Yip and starring Donnie Yen, Louis Koo and Collin Chou, recently wrapped and Mandarin has closed sales to Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
