The fourth annual MarrakechFilm Festival drew to a close on Sunday with Alexander Payne's Sidewayswinning the top prize.

The jury prize went to China'sMenying Tong Nian by Xiao Jiang and Senegal's Moolaade by OusmaneSembene in a tie.

The jurywas presided over by British director Alan Parker and included RosannaArquette, Guillaume Canet and Chantal Akerman.

The topacting awards went to Vera Farmiga for her portrayal of a woman battlingaddiction in Debra Granik's Down To The Bone while Russian Bogdan Stupkatook the best actor award for his role in Dmitry Meskhiyev's Svoi.

Thefestival drew some criticism this year for a lack of star wattage withMorocco's King Mohammed VI failing to make an appearance for the first time.However, legends Sean Connery, Claudia Cardinale and Youssef Chahine were allin attendance for tributes.
