Maximum Films International has picked up world sales rights on two major Canadian titles at TIFF: Michael McGowan's gala title, One Week, and Deepa Mehta's special presentation, Heaven On Earth.

The One Week deal covers all rights except for Canada while the Heaven On Earth deal covers the world ex Canada and the US. ICM is representing the film for US sales; the agency also represents Mehta. Mongrel Media has Canadian rights on both pictures.

MFI is also selling international on Atom Egoyan's Adoration and international and Canadian rights on Randall Cole's Real Time, starring Jay Baruchel and Randy Quaid.

MFI managing director Charlotte Mickie told Screen International, 'Deepa is the consummate filmmaker with a marvelous track record but this delves into new territory. Michael's film is an unquestionable audience-pleaser both charming and moving.'

One Week features Joshua Jackson as a young man whose terminal diagnois sends him on a cross-country odyssey. Liane Baliban and Campbell Scott co-star. Heaven On Earth showcases Bollywood star Priety Zinta as an Indian bride who finds herself in an abusive relationship with an Indo-Canadian.
