CJ Entertainment, the powerful conglomerate which bestrides the domestic Korean scene, has struck a series of key deals with its true-life murder mystery Memories Of Murder.

The film, which broke box office records and won major prizes at the San Sebastian film festival, has been sold to Cinequanon for Japan, Optimum for the UK, Nobel & Partners for Scandinavia, A-Film for the Benelux region and Alta Films for Spain.

"These are ground breaking deals for us," said Edison Jeon, senior vice president of sales. "Some of these are countries which have not previously been convinced of the commercial potential of Korean films. We achieved a record value in our contract with A-Film."

CJ has a muscular slate which only days before Mifed was expanded with the addition of Crazy Assassins. The Yoon Jae-Kyun film is a special-effects heavy period comedy starring Kim Ming-Jong and Choi Sun-Kook.
