Metrodome have acquired full UK rights to Eric Barbier's stylish French revenge thriller The Serpent.

The film is an adaptation of the classic crime novel Plender by Ted Lewis (Get Carter), directed by Eric Barbier and starring Yvan Attal (Munich, The Interpreter) and Clovis Cornillac (Brice De Nice, A Very Long Engagement).

The deal was negotiated between Carole Baraton from Wild Bunch and Metrodome's General Manager Sara Frain and Acquisitions Manager Kate Falconer.

Peter Urie, CEO from Metrodome said: 'The Serpent is a tense and intelligent thriller, a fantastic addition to our slate for 2007, we look forward to working with Wild Bunch on its release later this year.'

Also on Metrodome's slate for 2007 are Oscar-nominated French film Days Of Glory (released March 30), Sarah Polley's directorial debut Away From Her (released April 27), Deepa Mehta's Oscar-nominated Water (June 1) and Laurie Collyer's Sherrybaby (July 27th).
