MGM Networks has signed a deal with Eurocom, the largest cable operator in Sofia, Bulgaria, to launch a local language version of The MGM Channel starting next month. The deal marks MGM's debut in Bulgaria.

'MGM Networks has been on a roll across Central and Eastern Europe,' said MGM Networks executive vice president Bruce Tuchman in a statement. 'Starting from scratch just a few years ago, we have built a vibrant collection of locally versioned MGM branded channels now reaching most of the countries in the region. We are very pleased to have Eurocom on board for our launch into Bulgaria, and we are excited to tap into further distribution opportunities as we move forward in this growing market and across the region.'

The MGM Channel will be included in Eurocom's analogue basic cable package, and will be subtitled into Bulgarian. Like MGM channels across the region, the channel will feature a wide selection of titles from the MGM movie library.

Eurocom is owned by private equity investor fund Warburg Pincus.
