Shooting has started on Enduring Love, an adaptation of Ian McEwan's novel directed by Roger Michell.

Daniel Craig, Rhys Ifans and Samantha Morton star in the project, produced by Free Range Films and backed by Pathe Pictures, Inside Track, FilmFour, Ingenious Media and the UK Film Council. Pathe Distribution will handle the UK release, while Pathe International is selling the film worldwide.

Producer is Kevin Loader, with Pathe's Francois Ivernel and Cameron McCracken taking exec producer credits. The script is by screenwriter and playwright Joe Penhall, whose credits include Simon Cellan Jones' Some Voices.

Enduring Love is the first film to be directed by British director Michell since The Mother, which won acclaim at Cannes this year, where it screened in Directors' Fortnight. That film also starred Daniel Craig. Michell's credits include Notting Hill and Changing Lanes.
