French animation and documentary producer Millimages has confirmed that is holding ongoing discussions with Jean Labadie's Bac Majestic to invest in the company.

Several other outfits have been floated as possible buyers for the embattled company including Jacques Ouaniche of Noe Productions and sales outfit Exception (see ScreenDaily.com, Nov 19)

The news comes as Bac confirmed the sale of its remaining cinemas to Jean Claude Tupin who owns the Ecrans Salamandre group.

Under the terms of the deal, Tupin has assumed Euros 10m of Bac debt to pay for the cinemas.


Since offloading several theatres last year, Bac had been aggressively seeking a buyer for the remaining 29 screens in Compeigne, Douai and Beauvais.
