Jimmy Katz, VP of Europe, Middle East and Africa for the Motion Picture Association, died in a Brussels hospital on May 8.

Katz had worked with the MPAin Brussels since July 1999.

He was previously anexecutive at Columbia Tri-Star and from 1995-1999 he worked in Los Angeles as VP of International. Prior tothat he had worked in London as managing director of Columbia TriStar Films (UK), responsible for UK & Ireland theatrical distribution and marketing. He was also managing director for Columbia TriStar, France. From 1974-1987 he worked for WarnerBros/Columbia in Argentina, the Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal.

Katz was a U.S. citizen who was educated in Paris. He is survived by his wife Raquel and son David.
