Sweden's Modern Times Group (MTG) has added a new business unit, New Media, and appointed Hans-Holger Albrecht as president and CEO.

At the same time, Anders Nilsson, formerly head of MTG's publishing unit, has been promoted to senior vice president. Albrecht was formerly COO of the company.

The New Media unit, which includes interactive TV portal Everyday.tv and internet portal Everyday.com, will be headed by former head of MTG's Viasat Sport, Jorgen Madsen.

Meanwhile Viasat Broadcasting will be divided between Petter Nylander and Steen Ulf Jensen, who will be in charge of free-TV and pay-TV respectively. MTG's free channels include TV3, ZTV, 3+, TV8 and Viasat Plus while its pay channels include TV1000, Cinema, TV6 and Viasat Sport.

The company's radio division will be headed by Susanna Berv, while Michael Porseryd becomes new head of the publishing department. Modern Interactive will continue to be run by Magnus Hakansson, SDI Media Group by Marvin Berchin and Modern Studios by Kinna Bellander.

MTG was founded at the end of 1994 as a media division within major Industriforvaltnings AB Kinnevik which divested its shares in the company in 1997.
