New Line Cinema has acquired North American rights from Darclight Films to the British horror film The Sick House.

Directed and co-written by Curtis Radclyffe, the film tells the story of an archaeologist, played by Gina Phillips (Jeepers Creepers), who becomes trapped in an abandoned hospital and is preyed upon by an incarnation of the plague. The film is screening in the Cannes market on May 22.

Radclyffe previously won a special jury award at the Fantasporto International Fantasy Film Festival for his 1996 psychological thriller Sweet Angel Mine.

Darclight, the genre division of Arclight Films, is also selling Renny Harlin project Brodie's Law, which is currently in pre-production, and Jennifer Lynch's Surveillance, currently shooting with Julia Ormand and Bill Pullman heading the cast.
