Along Came Polly's NZ$300,945 gross for UIP from 40 screens was enough to knock Scooby-Doo 2 - Monsters Unleashed down into second position at the New Zealand box office over the Easter weekend. In dollar terms there wasn't much between the two films, but Scooby-Doo 2, which is in its second week on release, is on 31 more screens.

Three new titles completed the top five holiday weekend hits. Columbia TriStar took the third and fourth line honours with 50 First Dates, which grossed NZ$271,151 from 56 screens on previews only, and Secret Window, which grossed NZ$239,705 from 31 screens. UIP's The Cat In The Hat claimed the fifth spot with NZ$221,756 worth of tickets sold to 63 screens.

The two other openers in the chart Roadshow's Girl With A Pearl Earring and Hopscotch's GoodBye, Lenin! both of which were on very limited release, ended up eleventh and thirteenth respectively.
