Hong Kong’s Mega-Vision Pictures (MVP) is producing a remake of the popular Young And Dangerous franchise, directed by hot up-and-coming director Daniel Chan.

Manfred Wong, who worked on the original franchise, has scripted the remake, Young And Dangerous: Reloaded, which is being produced by MVP founder Wong Jing. Him Law, Leony Leung, Alex Lam and Paul Wong head the cast.

The gangster reboot aims to stay true to the gritty style of the original franchise, directed by Andrew Lau in the ’80s and ’90s, but make it relevant for modern audiences. “I wanted to make sure that when people watch the original and now the remake, they would feel they have grown and changed as much as the two films have over the years,” said Chan.

MVP is also selling Wong Ching Po’s Once Upon A Time In Shanghai, an action title starring Philip Ng, Sammo Hung and Andy On.
