Hong Kong’s Pegasus Motion Pictures has signed two-year output deals with two separate Asian distributors: Cai Chang International in Taiwan and Lotus Five Star in Malaysia.

The first title under the deal with Cai Chang is Vincent Kok’s Hotel Deluxe, which will open in Taiwan on March 15. The Cai Chang deal will also cover Wilson Yip’s upcoming big-budget Ip Man 3D, starring Donnie Yen.

The first title under the Lotus Five Star deal is Ronny Yu’s period epic Saving General Yang, which is gearing up for a wide release across Chinese-speaking territories in April. Lotus Five Star also released Hotel Deluxe on February 7, but acquired the title from Pegasus separately from the output deal.

Pegasus executive director Alvina Wong said that the two deals would cover around 6-7 titles each during the two-year period.

Ensemble comedy Hotel Deluxe, produced by Pegasus founder Raymond Wong, opened in China on Feb 1 and Hong Kong on Feb 7 to coincide with the Chinese New Year holiday period. The film is also being released in Singapore by Cathay, which also has an output deal with Pegasus.
