Paul Brigner has joined the Motion Picture Association Of America (MPAA) in the newly created post of senior vice-president and chief technology policy officer.

As the principal technologist and technology policy strategist for the organistation, the former executive director of internet and technology policy for Verizon will serve as the lead executive on technology issues impacting the protection of intellectual property.

He will also be directly involved in industry-wide content standards to allow consumers to access content in the digital age. He will report to president and interim MPAA CEO Bob Pisano and will be based in Washington DC commencing January 10.
