EXCLUSIVE: Feature documentary shows Bob Cringely’s 1995 interview with Jobs.

In their latest venture together, leading documentary sales agents Autlook and Films Transit are joining forces to handle international sales on Steve Jobs: The Lost Interview.

Bob Cringely’s feature doc is based around an interview that Cringely himself conducted with the visionary Apple boss Steve Jobs in 1995, when Jobs was running NeXT, the niche computer company he had founded after leaving Apple. (He was to return to the company and to oversee its triumphant rebirth after Apple purchased NeXT in 1996.)

The film is produced by John Gau and Paul Sen.

“I’m convinced this film will be a substantial seller, definitely after the phenomenal global success of Steve Jobs Biography,” commented Autlook boss Peter Jager. “Here we see the true visionary Steve Jobs was, talking intimately about what is essential in life and work. Here we see a visionary talking about the future - this is essential viewing not only for the millions of Steve Jobs or Apple fans but also for all the crazy and curious people everywhere”.

North American rights are with Magnolia Pictures, who’ve already been organising theatrical event screenings of the film at Landmark Theatres. Italy is sold to distributor Feltrinelli but the rest of world is available. Autlook’s Director of Theatrical Sales Astrid Guger and CEO Peter Jager will be giving the film its market debut in Cannes. Market screenings will be announced shortly.
