EXCLUSIVE: Nicolas Chartier’s financing, production and sales outfit will present the world premiere screening and kick off sales in Cannes on Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, the first in an anticipated reboot of the horror franchise.

Kaare Andrews shot the film in the Dominican Republic last November from a screenplay by Jake Wade Wall, whose credits include The Hitcher and When A Stranger Calls.

Producer Evan Astrowsky from the original Cabin Fever is currently developing two sequels with Voltage and Dominican Republic-based Indomina.

Sean Astin stars in Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, about a group of friends who arrive on a Caribbean island in search of the perfect scuba dive and find instead a person who has been quarantined with a highly infectious flesh-eating virus. Voltage represents worldwide rights.
