EXCLUSIVE: Sales outfit boards rom-com The Right Kind of Wrong, starring True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten [pictured].

WestEnd Films has boarded international sales on rom-com The Right Kind of Wrong, starring Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries) and Catherine O’Hara.

Robert Lantos and Serendipity Point Film produced the underdog love story, currently in post-production, in which Kwanten stars as a struggling writer who meets the girl of his dreams at a wedding - her wedding.

Jeremiah Chechik directs from Megan Martin’s script adapted from Tim Sandlin’s novel Sex and Sunsets. Ari Lantos also produces with Mark Musselman as executive producer.

eOne will distribute in Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand and the Benelux. Serendipity Point handles US rights.

“I love this story because it is about a character for whom nothing is impossible,” said producer Lantos. “Neither adversity nor physical harm can deter him from his fearless quest to win over his true love.”

Director Chechik said: “The Right Kind of Wrong is a film about chasing the impossible, staying true to one’s nature, the joy of relentlessness, living without filters and of course love.”

Sharon Harel, chairman and partner at WestEnd Films, added: “We are delighted to be representing this fresh, funny and touching romantic comedy. It’s the kind of movie that people want to see and that buyers are looking for, and is a great addition to our slate.”

WestEnd’s AFM slate also includes David Gordon Green’s drama Joe, Ralph Fiennes’ Charles Dickens drama The Invisible Woman and Gabriele Salvatores’ Siberian Education.
