The Dimension 3 Festival is planning several new programmes for its fifth edition (May 24-26) in Saint-Denis, near Paris.

Augmented Reality will be the special focus of two conferences on May 24.

The D3 Expo area will offer themed areas devoted to testing S3D filming systems and immersive applications.

The event is adding a second exhibition hall – D3 Decouverte Expo, which will also host a the Tomorrow’s Classroom area. In addition, the D3 Decouverte Auditorium will screen a selection of films competing in the Dimension 3 Festival along with other international programmes.

D3 Découverte will also host the Innovation Labs area, to present research projects by university students (area developed with Paris 8’s Image Arts and Technologies department).

Young talents will also be celebrated in the D3 Generation area, which will include an interactive screen showing work by aspiring employees or interns. ‘Speed dating’ style career events will be held there.

The festival’s call for contents is open until April 15. As previously reported, Dimension 3 is aimed at producers and creators of 3D works, across film, special formats, documentary, TV, live programming and more.

There will also be 14 Dimmy’s Awards presented on May 24 for various technical categories.
