An Education and One Day’s Lone Scherfig is on board to direct the feature, which is set to shoot in May.

Set amongst the privileged elite of Oxford University, Posh follows Miles and Alistair, two first year students determined to join the infamous Riot Club where reputations can be made or destroyed over the course of a single evening.

Graham Broadbent and Pete Czernin produce for Blueprint Pictures with BFI Film Fund and Film4 on as co-developers. The production is currently assembling cast.

Scherfig commented: “Posh invites us into a uniquely fascinating and hilarious world to which none of us would normally have access.

“But this elite and refined world is not what it first seems, especially when its members are ‘chateau’ed and provoked….”

Producers Broadbent and Czernin said: “We think Laura has written a bold, timely and very funny script that will attract audiences around the world. We couldn’t be more excited at having Lone Scherfig direct.”

Thorsten Schumacher, MD of HanWay Films said: “Posh brilliantly exposes the hidden world of Britain’s young, monied elite.

“We loved working on An Education, and for the third time Lone will bring her unique take to a very English subject matter.

Posh will be classy, hip and topical. The combination of talent in Lone, Graham, Pete and Laura guarantees an incredible cast and made this an irresistible project for our international team.”

Broadbent and Czernin recently landed Outstanding British Film BAFTA nominations for comedy Seven Psychopaths and box office revelation The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
