The organisation announced on Wednesday [16] it will award grants totalling more than $500,000 to 22 feature-length film projects that applied for support in 2012.

Cinereach received more than 2,000 applications from more than 100 countries.

The grant recipients comprise 12 non-fiction films, seven fiction films and three hybrids.

There are 14 new grantees in all stages of production of development and post-production. Eight prior grantees will receive renewed support and they include Sundance entries Cutie And The Boxer, God Loves Uganda [pictured] and Narco Cultura. Our Nixon will premiere in Rotterdam.

“Not only do these grantees reflect a larger number of fiction projects than previous cycles, there are also more first-time feature filmmakers, and more projects in development or early production,” said Cinereach grants manager Adella Ladjevardi.
