Jack Black is still in final negotations to star in the comedy which is due to start shooting in September.

Shooting is due to begin September 3 on Howard Deutch’s comedy Wild Oats, being sold internationally by Stealth Media Group.

Shirley MacLaine, Jacki Weaver and Alan Arkin will head up the cast of the film, which has been written by Gary Kanew and Claudia Myers and is being dubbed as a cross between Thelma & Louise and Sideways. MacLaine will play a woman who receives a Social Security payment of  $900,000 instead of $900 and decides to head to Vegas.

The film is being produced by Blythe Frank, Michael Mailer and Alexander Tabrizi along with Stealth Media Group’s Jason Piette and Michael Cowan. Agathe David-Weill is executive producing.

Mark Amin’s Sobini Films is backing the project, with Dimension Films onboard for US rights and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions for select international territories.
