Optimum boards new project from Kidulthood director

Optimum Releasing has acquired the UK rights to Kidulthood director Menhaj Huda’s horror film Comedown, which will begin shooting in London in March 2010.

Comedown follows six teenagers who become the target of a local psychopath after setting up a pirate radio station aerial in the condemned tower block where he lives. It is written by Steven Kendall.

Geoff Bell, Martin Compston,  Red Madrell, and Adam Deacon are set to star in the project which is being produced by Dominic Norris of Serotonin Films and Gareth Wiley of Phoenix Wiley. Vic Bateman’s AV Pictures is handling international sales. 

“The success of Kidulthood has illustrated Huda’s ability to deliver commercial and credible entertainment to the international market and we’re excited to be part of the Comedown team.,” said Will Clarke, CEO of Optimum Releasing.
