Next week'sInternational Screenwriters' Festival has added actor, novelist and playwright Nigel Planer to its line-up.

Planer remains best-known for his iconic comedy roles in the 1980s in The Comic Strip and The Young Ones but hasalso been a successfulplaywright and writer with two novels to his name.

Among recent work, he has been the voice of the Discworld audiobook adaptation of the work of Terry Pratchett, who also appears at the festival.

Two other late additions to the line-up this year areEd Clarke, head of development for Kudos Pictures and producer Mark Shivas.

Clarke was head of development and acquisitions at Capitol Films, where he worked on projects including Edge Of Love andBefore The Devil Knows You're Dead.

Producer Mark Shivas has occupied several leading roles at the BBC and BBC Films.His executive producer credits include Truly Madly Deeply andHideous Kinky.
