Northern Arts Entertainment in association with Artistic LicenseFilms and marketing experts Palisades Pictures Entertainment has picked up PupiAvati's romantic comedy Incantato (Il Cuore Altrove).

The Italian-language picture was a hit at Cannes 2003 and earnedAvati a best director di Donatello award the same year. It will open in NewYork on Sept 24 and Los Angeles on Oct 15, followed by nationwide expansion.

Giancarlo Giannini, Neri Marcore and Vanessa Incontrada star inthe tale of a shy bachelor under pressure to produce an heir who assumes ateaching job in Bologna and falls for a charming blind woman.

Northern Arts' John Lawrence Re and Larry Jackson negotiated thedeal with Rai Trade's Sesto Cifola.

'John and I adored the film when we saw it at the CannesFilm Festival,' Jackson said in a statement. 'It's the most originallove story we've seen in ages, and introduces a phenomenal new comedic talentin Neri Marcore.'

Since its inception in 1990, Northern Arts has released more than65 pictures in the US, and its line-up of releases includes Vietnam'sSong Of The Stork and Philippe Caland's Hollywood Buddha.

Incantato marks Nothern Arts' first of several plannedcollaborations with Sande Zeig and Artistic License Films, which Zeig formed in1994. Artistic License will release Hollywood Buddha with Northern Arts.
